Texas Sailing on Lake Travis is a US Sailing–certified school offering both non-certification classes (Discover Sailing, Intro to Sailing, Basic Sailing) and US Sailing certification courses (Basic Keelboat, Basic Cruising, Bareboat Cruising). The marina is at 103 Lakeway Dr Suite C, Lakeway, TX, about 30 minutes west of downtown.
If you've never sailed and just want to try it, a non-certification class like Discover Sailing or Intro to Sailing is a low-pressure first step. If you already know you want to charter boats or sail seriously, you can skip straight into US Sailing Basic Keelboat, no prior experience required. Many students take a single non-cert class first, then move into the certification track once they're hooked.
Non-certification classes start at $395 for a one-person Intro to Sailing group class. US Sailing Basic Keelboat starts at $1,195 per student in a group class. Combine two or more classes for 10% off, stackable with another 10% off as a Texas Sailing Member.
Group classes are capped at four students. Private one-on-one instruction is also available seven days a week.
